Devon and Billy are officially Mr. and Mrs. and tomorrow they are boarding a plane for their Hawaii honeymoon. Here’s a peek of a very special guest that was able to join us right after the wedding ceremony.

Today I thought I would share one of the family dogs, Max. Max belongs to my in-laws and he’s the most laid back dog ever. He’s a Lab and Dalmatian mix who loves to travel. He spent this past winter in Florida and now he is spending his summer in Parrsboro. Most of the time, napping. He napped in the car for the drive from Lake Wylie, SC all the way to the cottage in Nova Scotia. He even got to meet boarder patrol when my in-laws crossed into Canada. He did great with all of us in and out of the cottage for about a week. As long as you gave him a treat or a walk, he would be your best friend. So here’s Max, the cottage dog.

In my next life, I am requesting to come back as Max. Have fun at the cottage Max and make sure you keep those seagulls in line. See you in October.

Canada. There’s something about this place that will forever be in my heart. The people are so friendly; I’d even go as far as to say more friendly than the south. And the landscape? Forget about it – it’s like a screensaver every day. The weather most days on our visit were cool with a light breeze. I loved the fact that I got to wear jeans and sweaters in the middle of summer. That never happened for me growing up in the south where sweat was the accessory of the season. One of the days in the family cottage, my sister-in-law, Danielle and I took a walk three mile hike while the water was out.

The ocean was so clear, full of rocks and some very cold water. Everyday for about a week, this was the view we took in. Not much to complain about and breathtaking at the least. More pictures of a very special four-legged guest up next on the blog. Happy Wednesday!

Yes, I promise I am still alive. I’ve been crazy busy playing catch up, answering emails, siging up for some photography classes and getting ready for a wedding this weekend. Our vacation to Canada was amazing, but I’ve had a case of vacation brain since we returned. I hope to return to blogging on a more regular basis soon. Here’s a picture from our last day in Canada. We drove all the way from Saint John, New Brunswick (about four and a half hours) to Halifax, Nova Scotia. The bridges in this city reminded me of San Francisco.

Tish Mackay Photography will be closed starting July 21st for vacation. I will respond to all emails when I return back starting the week of August 2nd.

I’m looking forward to seeing/meeting family, cooler weather and just relaxing. Here’s a picture taken by my talented father-in-law, John Mackay, of what to expect of the views from the cottage where we will be staying in Canada. It all started with a giggle and maybe even a few lollipop. This 4th of July weekend was filled with family. Five families joined together; four sisters, two grandparents, four husbands and some super cute kids. There was no crying, only laughter on this cool summer day. Who could ask for a better day?

Thanks to everyone for such a great afternoon of jumping, smiling and just plain fun.

Over July 4th weekend, I headed up to the Peninsula in Lake Norman, NC to shoot five very fun and super friendly families. This sneak peek is of the four sisters and the their parents. Just wait until you see all the cute kids. More to come later this week.

Do you ever meet people and you just click with them? It’s that instant “ah ha” moment when you realize you have lots in common? I met Devon at a volunteer event and thought she was one cool chick. Later on that afternoon, Devon’s boyfriend Billy at the time stopped by. You could see they just clicked. They had a routine about themselves and you could tell it was their own secret language. I got an email at the beginning of 2010 from Devon saying that Billy had proposed and I could not be more excited for the couple. Not only did I adore them together, they also had an amazing dog named Bailey who stole the show anytime the camera was up. Together, they make a really fun family and an even more fun engagement shoot. I can’t wait until this wedding in August where I promised Devon that this horrible heat wave we are having will be gone. Let’s hope I can pull through.

One of the things that Dottie and Angela added to their must shoot list was dancing – - and they promised lots of it. And they didn’t disappoint because they started dancing down the aisle after saying I do. It started with a few notes and suddenly, the whole wedding party joined in to Black Eye Peas, I Got A Feelin. It was the best exit to any wedding. After the exit, we headed to the courtyard for some post wedding pictures. This couple was so easy going and I loved the fact they planned time after the wedding and before dinner to get some pictures of the two of them together alone. The reception had lots of energy, we even got Dottie’s mom to dance. I told Cookie I would post only one to show she can rock it. The end of the night was spent on the dance floor until the couple left. I can’t think of one person who attended this wedding that didn’t have fun.
