Last weekend, a group of us headed to a corn maze up in Huntersville, NC. I’d always passed the sign and thought it would be fun to try it out. The goal is to get all the maze pieces and out of the maze as fast as possible.

The before picture – where everyone is smiling and thinking - it’s a piece of cake!

The average time to complete the maze is 27 minutes. Let’s just say it look us many more minutes and maybe an hour or two to get out.

So we walked. And walk. And then walked some more.

And we looked at the map when we got lost. Which happened a lot.

We made it out with lots of laughs, a little sweat (understatement) and a thirst for some good sweet tea.

Thanks to our buddies that helped us with directions out the maze and also snapping a pictures of our crew. Needless to say, we had a blast and a corn maze is my new favorite thing to do on a fall weekend with friends. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Tish Mackay Photography will be at Birkdale Village in Huntersville, NC this Saturday at 11:30am until 2pm with Project HALO. If you are looking for a new fuzzy best friend, this is the place to be. Hope to see you there!

One afternoon, after meeting my friend for lunch on a beautiful cool Carolina afternoon, I heard a bark coming from the most unusual place — an art gallery. Needless to say, I ran in to meet the little guy and also poked around and to see the new exhibit. A week later I dropped by again to say hi to my new fuzzy friend and get some pictures of the best little hidden marketing genius himself.

Meet the best greeter at an art gallery, Rattie. He’s spunky, he’s lovable and he’s the best tour guide I’ve had the chance of meeting.

Did I mention that he likes to pose among the art work?

He also has the softest ears.

And since he is the mascot for the gallery, It would only be fitting to have an artistic moment captured for a future canvas.

Thanks for showing me around and being such a great host.

Don’t forget to stop by the Pet Expo tomorrow at Founder’s Hall at the Bank of America Corporate Center around lunch.

There will be a raffle, door prizes and even a photo contest. See you there!

I really love this time of year. The cool air starts creeping in. Every thing pumpkin flavored starts to brew or bake. The leaves will soon start to hit the ground and sweaters will come out from the back of closets. It is the little things that make fall such a wonderful season. Speaking of little things, I am reminded a little find from an antique flea market found on a random road trip. We were headed back from the wonderful wineries up in the Yadkin Valley of NC when we happen to detour and find a small warehouse. We split up and I headed towards the back. There it was. A little case, almost a purse. I opened it to reveal a treasure – a camera. The paper inside the case told the story that the camera was purchased in 1965. I thought to myself how many things this camera could have seen over the years. I picked up the case and camera and ran to pay for this it. The total cost was $4 dollars. We are not sure if the camera works, but it sits open and on display in our office. It is one of my favorite finds and I can’t wait to find film to load it up and take it out for a spin to see a new world. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Who’s ready for the weekend? (You can’t see me, but I promise I am typing with one hand and raising the other one in the air). Did I mention that it’s Labor Day weekend and some of us get an extra day off to make three whole days to relax, hang out with friends, travel or just kick back and cross off things from the old “to do” list? We are actually staying put or some might call it something more fancy, like a stay-cation. Just planning to hang out, get some projects done around the house, have an actual date night, watch some movies, hang out with a few pals, take the pups on longer walks and just enjoy time away from the office.

This Friday I thought I would share pictures from our last vacationto Charleston, SC. If you haven’t been to the south, you are really missing out on good food, great shopping and well, awesome sights. Even Paula Dean would agree. Let’s start off with Justine’s Kitchen.

Regardless of what you order from the menu, you won’t be disappointed. If you don’t have time to stand in line (that can wraps around the corner of the building no matter what time of the day) and have a sweet tooth craving, head next door to the sweet shop.

If your heart desires shopping, the market is the place to check out. You can find anything; I mean anything…

As you can see, I have a very loving and patient husband who likes to model hats. But if a hat for the safari is not your style, check out the handmade baskets.

After a walk through the market, just keep walking. Take you time and look around. Charleston has so much charm. The rod iron gates all over the city are amazing.

If you get a chance to visit  South Carolina, add Charleston to the list of cities to check out. It’s one of my favorite locations to vacation. Until next week, have a wonderful weekend.
