My fur kids aren’t as cool as their friends. I’ve been super busy between sessions and editing that I didn’t have a chance to get them Halloween costumes. So this year, I called upon their friends – the pugs: Sylvie and Atticus. I’m sure you remember them from a session earlier this year. So here they are – all dressed up and ready to go trick or treating – - I’m sure they are looking for treats more than tricks. Happy Halloween!

Here are two sneak peeks from two different sessions. Two dogs. Completely different personalities. Lots of drool, running around and kisses – the perfect weekend if you ask me. More to come from these sessions next week.

Sometimes things happen that changes your life. And we all have choices to make on how we handle these changes. We can throw the covers over our heads or we can take on the world with a big smile or wag in our tail no matter what cards we are dealt. Brandy is one of those dogs that no matter what happens, she’s going to put her best face forward and keep going. Brandy came to Jenna from the Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue. One day at daycare another dog got a little too aggressive with Brandy and she lost her eye. Brandy has now healed and you would never notice that one of her eyes is missing – - it’s almost like she is winking at you. She also loves to jump into your lap for love. Jenna was a little worried when Brandy greeted me with a hop, but coming from a Boxer home – I was excited to see that these Boxer manners are a given.  Here are some pictures from our session. I had such a great time not only getting to meet Brandy, but also some of her puppy friends.

When I was editing, I came across this picture above and just loved it – not sure why, but it makes me smile.

This last picture is one of my favorites from our session. Jenna was having her a conversation with Brandy and you could just tell Brandy loves her owner so much. Thanks again for having me out to photograph you guys.

You might think you’ve seen these paws before, but I promise you haven’t. This is Brandy the Boxer who happens to also be from the same rescue group as our Boxer. The funny thing about Brandy is that she looks almost the same as Laker. Same size, same coloring and same eyes even. The only difference I did find is that Brandy is very well behaved. She might need to teach Laker a few manners if you ask me. Here’s a peek from Brandy’s session. More to come soon!

There are special people out there with huge hearts. Most of the time you would never know it, but it just seems to pour out of them. Letting a new adopted pet into your home isn’t always easy, but the reward is nothing a lotto winner can ever speak to. Debbie contacted me to photograph her two Chihuahuas, daughter Nicole and Nicole’s dog too. Most people might have in their heads how certain breeds might behave, but all three of these dogs were a photographers dream. It did take them a while to warm up to my camera, but once they did, the big and little personalities just came out. Debbie’s session was taken at Freedom Park in Charlotte, NC.

This is how Debbie hold both Chihuahua’s at the same time – - they don’t mind it and I think they rather enjoy being close to each other.

Last but not least, some sweet Penny paws.

It was a perfect day at the park and I’m so glad I got to spend it with Debbie, Nicole and some really awesome pups.

If you happen to be out at a retail store lately, you might have seen that they are have out all all the holiday decorations. I’m not talking about Halloween, but Christmas. What ever happened to Thanksgiving? 2010 has been an exciting adventure for my business and for me personally. I know I must sound as nutty as the retail stores out there playing Christmas music now, but this year Tish Mackay Photography will be closed for November and December sessions. I am overwhelmed and truly lucky to be booked for all of October with a very limited number of sessions that are booking up faster than I can say “Happy Holidays.” Don’t worry, I promise  to be around booking sessions for 2011 and blogging sessions.

So here’s to safe travels and I can’t wait to see some old and new faces in 2011. And before I go, a post would not be complete without pictures, so here are some pictures of our dogs who are always ready for the fall.

Lately, I can’t get enough of paws. Make that paws and ears and cold noses and well, furry faces. Here’s a sneak from a session this past weekend of Teddy. I love how his little claws/toes just curl up. More from this session later this week.

There’s something about being the first. She’s the newest addition to join this happy-go-lucky couple. Her expert first time mom can spill everything one needs to add to a registry in less than 2.5 seconds. The best part about Harper is that she smiles when she sleeps. I almost wanted her to be able to speak so we can find out what makes her glow. I personally think it might be dad. She totally has him wrapped around her little fingers.

Congrats Kate and Dru on your new little bundle of joy, Harper. Thanks so much for sharing such a fun afternoon meeting your family.

Harper is only seven days old. And lucky for me, I got the chance to meet this little lady over the weekend. Here’s a little peek from her session.
