Tish Mackay Photography will be closed starting July 21st for vacation. I will respond to all emails when I return back starting the week of August 2nd.

I’m looking forward to seeing/meeting family, cooler weather and just relaxing. Here’s a picture taken by my talented father-in-law, John Mackay, of what to expect of the views from the cottage where we will be staying in Canada. I’ll be taking my camera and hope to have lots of pictures to share once we return. Have a great rest of July!

One of the things that Dottie and Angela added to their must shoot list was dancing – - and they promised lots of it. And they didn’t disappoint because they started dancing down the aisle after saying I do. It started with a few notes and suddenly, the whole wedding party joined in to Black Eye Peas, I Got A Feelin. It was the best exit to any wedding. After the exit, we headed to the courtyard for some post wedding pictures. This couple was so easy going and I loved the fact they planned time after the wedding and before dinner to get some pictures of the two of them together alone. The reception had lots of energy, we even got Dottie’s mom to dance. I told Cookie I would post only one to show she can rock it. The end of the night was spent on the dance floor until the couple left. I can’t think of one person who attended this wedding that didn’t have fun. Thanks again to Kelli Boling from Red K Photography for shooting and congrats again to Dottie and Angela on a beautiful wedding.

{Part One} D+A Wedding | Dunes West Charleston, SC

The beginning of June down in Charleston is known for being hot. But that didn’t stop a beautiful Charleston wedding from taking place at Dunes West with another awesome couple. From the minute I walked into the Golf Club house to the minute the couple left in their get-a-way car, you could feel the love and joy felt by everyone who attended and participated in the wedding. I would even go as far as saying that I still feel the same way going through and editing/posting these pictures. I’ve known Dottie for longer than I care to admit on this blog and age myself. You see, she was my first college roommate. She would make fun of me for my exploding closet (I have been know to be a little messy at times) and my love for her Mac that I spent hours on checking emails. But we made it through our freshman year and even have some pictures that I promise I won’t pull out at this time. Dottie sent me an email about a year ago telling me about her sweetie and how they wanted me to come out to shoot their wedding. To have the chance to catch up with an old friend and be a part of their wedding was something I jumped at the chance to do. The wedding was incredible. I usually don’t get choked up at weddings, but during their readings I had to stop and get a tissue. Before I forget, I’d like to thank Kelli Boling of Red K Photography for second shooting.

{Friday Faves} I’ll drink to that!

Sorry for all the delays, but the last couple of Fridays have been a little nutty. There were visitors from out of town, a Halloween party, some family shoots, one road trip and a really good concert. I don’t know about you, but once fall kicks in, it seems like go time. I’d just hate to blink, because 2010 will be here before we know it.

But before we hit the fast forward button on life, let’s slow down and take a sip. A sip of what you ask? Just some yummy NC Wine. That’s right. I said North Carolina. Travel up north and you’ll see some signs off the highway with cute winery names such as Ray Len or our favorite, McRitchie. No matter where you go, the tastings are worth the trip. Only an hour away from our home there are gravel roads, old farmhouses and sometimes even chickens pecking at grapes that have fallen off the vines.

And don’t even get me started on the beautiful fall colors this time of the year! We are so lucky to live in a place that gets to see all four season, and fall happens to be my favorite season of all.

There is still plenty of time to take a trip for a sip. I recommend mapping out a few wineries, packing a lunch and make your way to the nearest tasting table. This Friday favorite goes great with white or even red. You pick.

We are heading to Washington, DC this weekend and if you happen to be traveling also, travel safe!Happy weekend everyone.

Friday Favorites

Who’s ready for the weekend? (You can’t see me, but I promise I am typing with one hand and raising the other one in the air). Did I mention that it’s Labor Day weekend and some of us get an extra day off to make three whole days to relax, hang out with friends, travel or just kick back and cross off things from the old “to do” list? We are actually staying put or some might call it something more fancy, like a stay-cation. Just planning to hang out, get some projects done around the house, have an actual date night, watch some movies, hang out with a few pals, take the pups on longer walks and just enjoy time away from the office.

This Friday I thought I would share pictures from our last vacationto Charleston, SC. If you haven’t been to the south, you are really missing out on good food, great shopping and well, awesome sights. Even Paula Dean would agree. Let’s start off with Justine’s Kitchen.

Regardless of what you order from the menu, you won’t be disappointed. If you don’t have time to stand in line (that can wraps around the corner of the building no matter what time of the day) and have a sweet tooth craving, head next door to the sweet shop.

If your heart desires shopping, the market is the place to check out. You can find anything; I mean anything…

As you can see, I have a very loving and patient husband who likes to model hats. But if a hat for the safari is not your style, check out the handmade baskets.

After a walk through the market, just keep walking. Take you time and look around. Charleston has so much charm. The rod iron gates all over the city are amazing.

If you get a chance to visit South Carolina, add Charleston to the list of cities to check out. It’s one of my favorite locations to vacation. Until next week, have a wonderful weekend.
