Project HALO was out in full force at Birkdale Village in Huntersville, NC this past Saturday. Lots friendly faces stopped by to see some new and returning dogs. Here are a few from the event.

Remember Sugar? She’s been to a few Birkdale Village adoption events in the past. Sugar came to Project HALO from a puppy mill bust in Denver about a year ago. She is really sweet (just like her name) and loves belly rubs.

Patches is Sugar’s sister. She loves playing with toys and she loves the camera.

Peanut is just silly. He’s a very active dog and could be a perfect dog for all of you training for 5K races this spring.

And for the good news of the day, Brandy is not available because she is ADOPTED.

Meet Joy. She is a great dog with a really kind face. I even had a hard time not giving her treats.
All of these dogs along with some others can be found on the Project HALO website. Feel free to fill out an application if you would like to volunteer at an event or even foster.
Project HALO was out and about yesterday at Wachovia in Uptown Charlotte, NC with some new and familiar furry faces.

Meet Calvin. He’s a senior dog with lots of spunk.

Here’s Hazel. She’s the first Chinese Crescent-Pug mix I have ever met or photographed. She is warm to the touch and loves to near you.

You might remember this dog from some of the Birkdale Village adoption events. Rufus is the best. He loves toys that squeak and lots of head rubs. He’s a lover for sure!

Try and say no to that little face. Cletus, another Chinese Crescent-Pug mix, is all personality and LOVES to cuddle like it is no one’s business.

Cassidy was adopted out last night to a really cute family. Congrats!

Dutchess is another one you might have seen before as well. She is actually the sister of Rufus. She’s a medium sized lab mix, very mellow and great with kids too!
If you are interested in adopting any of these available dogs, please contact Project HALO.
Another adoption event and also a microchip clinic will take place this Saturday January 23rd at Birkdale Village in Huntersville, NC from 11:30am-2:30pm. Hope to see you there!
Amber reached out asking if I could shoot some engagement pictures for her and David. It would be exactly one year since the past Christmas that David had proposed to her in Uptown Charlotte and they never got proper pictures to remember that day. The holiday season time of the year is really near and dear to my heart, because that is the time of the year three years ago that my husband proposed to me. How could I could not say anything but yes to this shoot request?

Aren’t they so cute together?

This couple is just stunning. There were a couple of moments I gushed over the view finder on my camera when I saw the beautiful images appear.

And David, he is such a nice guy and just as easy on the eyes!

Amber is a great listener and brings a smile to your face if you have a bad day. She’s full of energy; it’s like it bounces off of her and onto anyone within ten feet of her.

Together this couple makes anyone feel right at home. I can’t even begin to tell you how easy they made my job to take their picture – I mean look at them!

Even when I asked them to do their best impression of a Hollywood couple, they just smiled and pulled it off without a flaw.

And the sunset was the perfect time of day to get some really pretty moments.

Thanks guys for a fun afternoon. Good luck on your big day this summer and wishing you lots of wonderful days to come.
Last weekend, I had the opportunity to shoot for Project HALO Santa pictures at South Park in Charlotte, NC. I saw lots of shoppers, some really cute kids and a regular named Charlie. You might remember Charlie from a post back this summer at a Project HALO aadoption event. Charlie came to get his pictures with Santa along with his new mom. I was so excited to see him so happy running up the path to jump into Santa’s lap for his Christmas picture.

Did I mention that his Christmas sweater was almost as cute as him? Nothing makes my holiday brighter more than to see a dog in a forever home. Thank you to everyone who has adopted a furry friend this past year.

And this Chaos just happens to be really cute and lovable. See the sneak below from our shoot in uptown Charlotte, NC.

More from this shoot and a few others soon!
p.s. Happy Holidays!
Sorry in advance for a short post with only one picture, but I had to get Baxter’s mug up on the blog. He was one of the many dogs I met today shooting for an event benefiting Project Halo. Thanks to everyone who came out to support a great organization. I hope to get to show off the other amazing pups soon and even an appearance from Santa.

The W Family is amazing. They are all kind, polite and super smart; plus they have three dogs that I said I would kidnap in a heartbeat for being such sweethearts.
Meet Jody and Chris plus the pups – Chloe, Barkley and Doc (left to right):

And here’s Blaine (8) and Tyler (12).

This family are huge dog lover (which makes me love this family even more). All of the W family dogs have been adopted from different rescue groups. They are also the best dogs to photograph. I think they stood or sat still for most of the pictures without any complaints.

And check out the men of this family. One word: Handsome.

Last but not least is the whole family all together with the dogs. We shot most of these pictures near a golf course and when Chris said Jody’s dad is a huge golfer, we jumped at the chance to get a shot on the green.

Thanks W Family for letting me spend some time with you and shooting your upcoming Christmas card. Have a super holiday season!
p.s. Tish Mackay Photography will be at Birkdale Village at Bella Ropa this Saturday from 11am-2pm taking pictures with Santa to benefit Project HALO.
Hope to see you there!
Dana contacted me with a request. She asked how I would feel about sneaking around with her to kidnap her boyfriend’s dog named Shotgun and get some pictures of him as a birthday/Christmas gift. I loved her thoughtfulness so much, that I had to say yes. I joined Dana at an empty house (her boyfriend was out for the rest of the day) and Shotgun, an eleven year-old sweetheart. I fell in love with Shotgun the minute I walked in the door and he greeted me with a lean. The rest of the shoot was filled with treats, a couple of dog kisses and some great sunshine.

I love his face so much. He is such a happy dog and it shows.

Dana shared lots of great stories about Shotgun getting into trouble. My favorite one was when he escaped from the backyard and headed up the street to the shopping center. They said he traveled up the escalator to the surrounding restaurants. People where petting on him and feeding him scraps when he was picked up by Dana’s boyfriend. So this next picture had to be included of him at the fence plotting his next great escape.

I learned a lot about Shotgun during our shoot. He loves to get his back scratched and will stand very still in the same place forever if you do so.

And after running around and making sure the yard was rid of squirrels, we headed inside to Shotgun’s favorite spot; the couch.

I don’t know why, but his surprised face in the next picture just makes me smile.

I have to say that I loved everything about this dog and his awesome personality right down to his paws.
