{family} Come Together | Lake Norman NC | Tish Mackay Photography

It all started with a giggle and maybe even a few lollipop. This 4th of July weekend was filled with family. Five families joined together; four sisters, two grandparents, four husbands and some super cute kids. There was no crying, only laughter on this cool summer day. Who could ask for a better day?

About a year and a half ago, we put our townhouse on the market. We thought it would get snapped right up, but it didn’t. We got really frustrated and didn’t know what to do. A friend of ours had bought a house from a straight-shooter and thought he would be able to get our place sold. Little did we know that he would not only be our real estate agent who would sell our place, he also our friend. John needed some new head shots and lucky for him, I had a camera.

My brother has always been there for me. At graduations, at my wedding and usually when I call. He loves to introduce me as his witty younger sister. He needed to update his picture for some marketing materials so I asked to help out. I will add I was very lucky to have a funny sister-in-law in the wings that assisted with getting Tomer to smile. He’s five years older than me. We hated each other when we were younger, but over the years things changed. He became the person I called when I needed advice or just tips on things technology. He’s the voice of reason, he’s the nutty guy that falls asleep watching TV and he’s my brother. Here’s a peek at his headshot.

It didn’t start off well. He came in the house in his little car seat all bundled from the cold afternoon. As soon as I saw his little face, I had to smile. Funny thing is, he began to cry. I was worried I scared him or upset his day, but it was neither. He bounced right back into his happy mood as soon as he was lifted from his seat. All he wanted was to be held.

Hudson joined our family two months ago. He’s such a handsome little boy full of personality.

Oh, and before I forget. Hudson has his very own guard dog – - Lucy. She made sure that I didn’t harm Hudson. Check out her ears.

{giving back} Wachovia Adoption Event | Project HALO | Charlotte, NC

Project HALO was out and about yesterday at Wachovia in Uptown Charlotte, NC with some new and familiar furry faces.

Meet Calvin. He’s a senior dog with lots of spunk.

Here’s Hazel. She’s the first Chinese Crescent-Pug mix I have ever met or photographed. She is warm to the touch and loves to near you.

You might remember this dog from some of the Birkdale Village adoption events. Rufus is the best. He loves toys that squeak and lots of head rubs. He’s a lover for sure!

Try and say no to that little face. Cletus, another Chinese Crescent-Pug mix, is all personality and LOVES to cuddle like it is no one’s business.

Cassidy was adopted out last night to a really cute family. Congrats!

Dutchess

Dutchess is another one you might have seen before as well. She is actually the sister of Rufus. She’s a medium sized lab mix, very mellow and great with kids too!

Another adoption event and also a microchip clinic will take place this Saturday January 23rd at Birkdale Village in Huntersville, NC from 11:30am-2:30pm. Hope to see you there!
