Hello and welcome to the blog! I am Dana Mackay (also known as Tish) and I'm a wedding and pet photographer in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In between weddings and corporate shoots, I’ve been busy on Twitter. And thanks to all the wonderful connections, I got the chance to photograph some really sweet pugs. Here’s a sneak from our session. Special thanks to Sweet Novemeber Events, Erica Stawick and her fabulous pugs, Avett and Norm.
I’m not sure if anyone would agree, but this felt like the longest week ever. I can’t even believe that a week ago today, I was headed to Cummings, GA to see my brother and his family. I got there around dinner time to see my four favorite people (and one cute dog-cousin) sitting on the porch waiting to welcome me into their home for a jam-packed weekend. We spent the next couple of days eating lots of good food, seeing animals at the zoo, having drawing contests, running up the road to get ice cream and also a visit to the local fish hatchery for a little fishing. I was so sad when Sunday came along and it was time to head back to the Carolinas. Good thing, I have another trip planned to head back in October for my nephew’s sixth birthday.

This was the fastest week ever. I think I blinked and poof, it’s Friday. So to finish off the week, I thought what would better than a contest? (Well, maybe a big tub of Ben and Jerry’s) My wonderful friend Julie is the creator of this awesome product called Yenithing. It’s a apron that covers you while bathing your pet or even your little ones. Trust me, if you are ever in a bathroom with a baby or dog in a tub full of water, you will get wet. They should put up a warning sign, like they do at amusement parks for the water rides.

Maybe it’s because I had a malti-poo for a brief time in my childhood, or maybe it’s because she’s so sweet, but Princess really tugged on my heart at the adoption event. She’s very calm and quiet, but very playful once she is around the other dogs, regardless if they are big or even small. She is almost a year old, but reminds me of an old-soul.
Here’s a little sneak peek of this past weekend from the Project HALO event. Meet Punky - a beagle mix with a heart of gold and the sweetest personality. More to come soon of Punky and the rest of the adorable dogs up for adoption.
Meet Barie and Adie – the rock star and the princess. Barie loves to sing, while her sister Adie, makes for a very smart and beautiful princess; Disney should really think about picking up this duo. Never a dull moment around these gals. Hope you girls have a wonderful summer!
Have you ever spent the day with two children under the age of two? Anything and everything is amazing to these beautiful kids from the Hoffman family, plus they never stopped moving. I had such a great time seeing both of their personalities come out during this shoot.
Could she be any more cute? I want to squeeze her!

Last but not least, is super mom. Not only is Iesha the mother of these two awesome kids, but she works full-time during the day and an actor in the evening with Shakespeare Carolina. She’s the lead in the upcoming play starting today of Antony and Cleopatra. So yes, you could say she has her hands full. She will be the first to admit that her husband Tad, will swoop in from time to time to save the day as well.
Did I mention she’s absolutely stunning? Can’t wait to see her on stage – break a leg!
Last Saturday, a very sweet and handsome little boy named Ramsay turned three. Can you guess what he got for his birthday? Stay tuned for more pictures.
